Diploma in Electrotechnology

Electrical Qualifications was set up in 2007 after fielding hundreds of enquiries about becoming an electrician whilst working at a college. The founder has been teaching electrical installation theory and practical since 1997, firstly part time on the C&G 2360 to mature students then latterly full time through the C&G 2351, C&G 2330, NVQ Level 2 and 3 and IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671). Other qualifications such as the PEO Engineering qualifications at Level 1 and Level 2 and the C&G 6217 Level 1 General Construction modules have also been written and delivered to age ranges between 14 and 72 and full time groups have been tutored along with Key Skills. The founder is also a current assessor and internal verifier on several different courses, has been head of department at two different colleges and is now the head of centre overseeing a lot more than just electrical qualfications.

In between electrical teaching, the founder also gained an Internet and Computing National Certificate from the Open University and has written several software learning packages though Flash, Powerpoint, Dreamweaver and many other pieces of software leading to an award from NILTA for Information and Learning Technologies and a BECTA shortlist for innovation in Construction related trades. All of these packages are made available free through the different websites.

The founder was also fortunate enough to collaborate with Exam Software on a range of mock exam packages and work with the very talented media extraordinaire and current website architect and maintainer at Stourbridge College, developing skills in web design, web animation, video editing and 3D modelling.

The founder also plays and enjoys guitar, bass and drums and has been in many bands, participates in online gaming, plays all the next gen consoles, has a season ticket for a premiership team (albeit not a very good one) and likes fast cars. He is also addicted to the PC and never leaves it, as his long suffering wife will attest quite vociferously to. Much of his spare time is taken up answering queries from all over the world about electrical qualifications so please bear with him sometimes!
