Logbook

The City and Guilds logbook has been released to record the evidence for the performance units of the C&G2357. We currently have an overview of the book but intend to put some example units on the site to help students complete the units in the future.

The cover is very snazzy, click on it to see it in its full glory!

Contents

C&G2357 logbook contents listing

The contents list is straightforward and as expected. The booklet is loose leafed suggesting that evidence gathered to support the units should be located within the logbook somewhere.

Evidence outline

C&G 2357 logbook evidence

The evidence doesn't seem to disimilar to that of the NVQ. The main focus appears to focus on direct observation with witness testimony second. It also mentions product evidence and photographs as other examples. What does seem to be lacking is some form of "site diary", which from experience, may well turn out to be a good thing.

Evidence example

C&G 2357 evidence completed example

There are 2 examples of completed evidence in the booklet. The statement in the booklet seems extremely brief leading to thoughts of supporting material by the assessor highlighting the detail.

Guidance on completion

Guidance on completion 2

There is a basic outline on what will be expected to be completed. Again, we assume that there will be quite an amount of supporting documentation to go into the logbook.
